WHAT IS THE HOLISTIC APPROACH WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY AND WHAT CAN IT DO FOR ME?
Instead of individual therapies that concentrate on where the discomfort is, focusing only on the symptoms and frequently ignoring the underlying reasons for our imbalances and compensations, we consider the entire body from head to toe.
Assessing and addressing the entire body in its natural movements may make a world of difference for us to be able to live an active and prosperous life for decades to come while performing at our personal best right now.
HOW DOES ONLINE PHYSICAL THERAPY COACHING WORK?
We offer 1-on-1 video coaching calls to our clients, as well as customized mobility & exercise programs that are linked to step-by-step videos. We also have group coaching through daily video calls that everyone in Health By Ratio can access.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT/ASSESSMENT?
The first thing you should know is that it's completely FREE!
We start with a series of safe and functional movement evaluations and range of motion tests based on the goal you're trying to achieve, the activities you do frequently, and your future ambitions.
After that, we go through all of your evaluations so you can see how and why your body is moving the way it does, as well as where potential compensations and/or imbalances are coming from.
Finally, we devise a game plan for you on what specific mobility and exercise methods you'll need to get back to your desired levels of health.
WHAT ARE THE 5 PILLARS OF HEALTH?
We are certain that we can all significantly improve our health and achieve amazing things if we learn how to strengthen The 5 Pillars of Health:

1. The Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Pillar
2. The Movement Pillar
3. The Nutritional Pillar
4. The Environmental Pillar
5. The Fulfilling Service Pillar

The 5 pillars are all linked, and every area of our lives may be affected for the better or worse. As a result, when we give each of them top priority, the body has the capacity to thrive with its natural abilities to heal and perform for decades on end.

We also emphasize the importance of being well-rounded in other aspects of their lives while working with us.
CAN PHYSICAL THERAPY HELP WITH SCIATICA?
One of the most common pains people experience is sciatica and back pain.

Personally, I had dealt with both for years while driving or sitting down for more than 20-30 minutes, making it difficult to navigate around in beautiful Los Angeles traffic that takes 9 hours each 10 miles traveled.

This is also something that my team and I have been able to assist an enormous number of our clients with.

For some people, sitting is a struggle as well; for others, it's when they go for too long on their feet or attempt to sleep. They are in a similar position to me when they come to us because they believe they have tried everything to get healthy:
CHIROPRACTIC & MASSAGE TREATMENTS, PAIN KILLERS & NERVE BLOCKERS, AND SURGERY
All of these therapies can make a difference in the short term, but their greatest drawback is that they seldom address the root causes of our sciatica and back injuries. Instead, they are concentrating on the symptoms at this time.

This relief can be great when the moment we are debating whether it is worth it or not to amputate our leg with a butter knife.
However, when we want to return to our regular day-to-day and active lifestyles in the long run, symptom chasing isn't enough.
PAIN KILLERS
CHIROPRACTOR
SURGERY
TIME TO ASSESS
After trying everything and realizing it isn't enough, it's time to look at what's going on above and below the spine and/or hips in order to discover what is affecting our core's ability to keep us stable.

The source of my pain, for me, was a combination of problems in my feet, ankles, and hips that resulted in an over-arching of my lumbar vertebrae and compression of my hip capsules.

To some of our customers, it has to do with their thoracic spine and shoulder girdle being abnormally compressed and rolled forward, resulting in the loss of their natural lumbar spine curvature and a posterior pelvic tilt.

For you, it might be another story.
